   "ERNEST BOBO of Los Angeles who was critically injured in a traffic accident several weeks ago in Cajon Pass is still hospitalized in the Glendale sanitarium. Listed among his injuries are eight broken ribs, a slight concussion, a broken pelvis, severe leg lacerations and possible internal injuries. Bobo was asleep in the back seat when the accident occurred. His wife, who was driving the car, was severely cut about the face and required 110 stiches. She has been released from the hospital and is recovering satisfactorily fromher injuries. Earlier reports, now being questioned, attributed the accident to a blowout."

(1928 - 2008)

"Dear Family and Friends,

    It's with a heavy heart that I share with you the news of my Dad's passing.  Sardis Bobo died July 18, 2008 from cancer.  He was diagnosed only 6 weeks ago with Malignant Mesothelioma.  Tumors were found in his chest and abdomen.  An initial surgery was done June 7th to try to repair a problem with his hiatal hernia and stomach.  The surgery was only partially successful due to the involvement of the hernia with the cancer tumors.  Dad really never recovered from the initial surgery and was in a great deal of pain so his passing is a blessing for him but a terrible loss for those of us who loved him.

    A vigil service will be held at Harbor Lawn Mortuary on Friday, July 25th, with the viewing from 3:00 - 6:00 PM and the Rosary following from 6:00 - 7:00 PM.  Everyone is invited back to my parents' home immediately following the rosary to celebrate Sard's life.

     The funeral mass will be at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church on Monday, July 28th at 11:00 am.  He will be interred at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City immediately following the mass.  We recognize that this is a long trip from Costa Mesa to Culver City so please only join us if it's not a hardship for you.

"Sardis Bobo

"Bobo, Sardis, 79, of Santa Ana, passed away July 18th. Sardis devoted his life to aerospace after his honorable discharge from the Air Force. He retired from McDonnell Douglas after 30 years to own Corky's Pest Control of Santa Ana. He is survived by his wife, Shirley; son, Lanny; daughter, Mary Moad; 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Michael. A visitation will be held at Harbor Lawn mortuary July 25 from 3-7pm, with the rosary service at 6pm. The funeral mass will be held on July 28 at 11am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Costa Mesa. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Culver City.
